Families
The
more organized you are, the more time you have
to
parent
(which is: to teach, to guide or spend time with)
Do you and your family need a little clutter clearing, some
suggestions on time management, or a little more? Inviting me into your home for a consultation is a good
way to begin improving the quality of your family life. Free
your time to enjoy life. I use a Systems Thinking
approach to help you assess and find options for bringing balance to
your home life.
During my years in social services, I worked with families and
children. I found tremendous passion and excelled in
developing and teaching parenting classes and worked one-on-one with
parents and children in creating healthy family dynamics and
relationships. My favorite program was the one that
facilitated the relationships between non-custodial parents and
their children. I have gathered all of my training and
experience in this arena, along with many insights gained from
raising my own two children and bring it to you in this focused work
with families around organizing and managing stuff.
Some of the supports that I offer:
-
Developing or fine tuning household flow
-
Organizing in any area including home office
-
Time Management Strategies and physical systems
-
Teaching Parents how to teach their kids about "Stuff Management"
-
And/or, directly work with children to teach them about organization and
their "Stuff Management"
-
Developing strategies to change behaviors
-
Provide resource guidance
-
Follow-up services
-
Coaching only or hands on assistance

Systems Thinking
views each person, or family as a unique system of interacting, interdependent
relationships. These relationships are within the individual
(physical, mental/emotional & spiritual), to each other, to the
environment, their communities & larger systems such as nature,
culture and government. All of these relationships are nested
into each other each one impacting the others.
The conditions or health of the
relationships are reflected in your home. Most obviously the
conditions of your environment reflect the routines and flow of the
family. Making changes here inspires positive, naturally
occurring improvements in the relationships among family members.
Applying Systems
Thinking begins with assessment and utilizes processes of change
that energize through a focus on strengths and creating improvements
through gentle, yet significant changes. This process
requires:
-
Assessment to gather information about the system (your
family and its relationships), its strengths and its challenges.
-
Clarifying vision
-
Actualizing the vision: Exploration of options and choosing of
positive action (goals), giving consideration to how these changes may
effect the system as a whole.
-
Implementing the changes, experiencing the results and,
-
Back to assessment, or observation.
